Addie has grown up accustomed to the life of privilege but has despised it; born in a wizarding town she has never experiences Muggle life and was taught to despise them when she was growing up. Although she started rebelling from her parents beliefs at an early age. She has never wanted to be a 'proper lady' like her family wanted and she loves to think for herself and resents being told what to do.
She obeyed her parents because she must and didn't want her mom to suffer if she didn't. So when her dad was convicted and sent to Azkaban for being a Death Eater during her third year Addie had finally said enough is enough.
While Her mother has been trying to pick up the pieces of there dignity and public image, Addie has wanted nothing to do with it and has probably only hurt the Blackwood name since then. Addie honestly wants nothing to do with that world that she grew up in and is much happier without any of it.
Her years at Hogwarts were spent making sure everyone knew how much she didn't care about what they thought of her as she ran around seducing taken boys for fun and gaining friends only to hurt them when they got to close. Even though this is all her fault she seems to believe that it proves her point that people don't stay around and that she can't trust anyone but herself.
The one thing that seems like a paradox in this is her love for quidditch. It's quite possible she only loved it because she played beater and her mother hated her for being on the team since it wasn't very traditional. She also loved how she could just be herself out there and people seemed to like her for it.
The only thing Addie does seem to be able to trust are plants and animals. She feels that they have something about them that is unlike people and that they will always be there for her no matter what she does. So it made sense that Addie excelled in Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures and that she left Hogwarts to become an apprentice in a Greenhouse. Although she's not sure if she's committed to that so she only shows up half the time and the other half explores her new found freedom in the world.
